A very good Father's Day indeed, if I do say so myself!
Plans for this years Father's Day started a bit early, as I wanted
to do something different, memorable, fun and one that wasn't
pinned up against that "one" special gift, but perhaps the
build-up to a few special things.
My plan was inspired by another blog posting of a similar
idea (a big thank you too for "borrowing" the concept).
The morning started out like any other.
Wake up, coffee, morning routine...start waking up Liam...
Then Oliver gets a routine-card in the morning with his first gift.
A Lemon Ball!...with a revelation that his morning had been
planned for a scavenger hunt!a first clue....
Head over to Napa General Store Cafe for breakfast,
but wear something you may not want to ever see again.
After breakfast, Oliver is then given his next clue by the waiter.
Go to the Napa Premium Outlet Mall, specifically Kenneth Cole
and ask for Iliana who will have a gift for Oliver!
(new outfit!)
Next up: Kara's Cupcake at the Oxbow Public Market!
(staff member looks at Oliver suspiciously and asks him to smile,
then hands him his next clue (along with the carrot cupcake).
Clue: go to Summerfield Park in Napa, CA
(a park that Oliver & Liam have never been to!)
This last clue was hard to spot...but eventually was found,
when Liam decided to take a pee right underneath the clue
pinned up on a tree! (Clue: head over to Grandma Bonnie's house)
And - wham! Fun with holi colors! (Now Oliver finds out
why I said, wear something you may never see again!)
Holi colors are used as part of a celebration in India on the
main day, Holi, also known as Dhulheti, Dhulandi or Dhulendi.
It is celebrated by people throwing colored powder and colored
water at each other. We skipped the water part to avoid making
too much of a mess at our friend's house, but still had lots of
fun! The holi color I found were by a company named e-coexist.
Their team: Manisha, Ravisankar, Sea Wings Logistics, Lolita, and
Anish all made it possible for me to purchase a few boxes and get
it over to me in California, well in advance of Father's Day! They
were AMAZING, so I am letting all my readers know about them!
Unlike other holi colors which are not safe, and have traces of
toxic chemicals, these particular holi powder is completely safe!
All natural and made from plants. If you are interested in
purchasing some, please ask or email to this link.
After showering up..Oliver received a REN Perfect Shaving Kit
and a pair of Fossil Philo Lace ups (to replace those Crocs).
Good times!
